LADY follows a 25-year-old woman who is the only female taxi driver in Lagos, a city of 22 million people. Exhausted by the chaos, harassment, and loneliness of her life, Lady dreams of escaping to Freetown. When her childhood friend Pinky returns with an offer to drive sex workers to their clients for extra money, Lady reluctantly accepts, desperate to fund her escape.
As she navigates Lagos' underbelly, Lady discovers a vibrant community of fierce women and begins listening to DJ Revolution, a charismatic radio host calling for political change. Through these experiences, Lady confronts her own repressed desires and past traumas, embarking on a journey of sexual and political awakening.
Set against the backdrop of a city on the brink of upheaval, LADY explores desire as a revolutionary force for intimacy, community, equity, and power. It's a raw, unflinching portrait of how one woman's awakening mirrors the explosive energy of Lagos itself, where the personal and political collide at every turn.
